Anyone wanting to join this KAL please leave a note here so we will know how many are participating.
We will begin May 1st. The pattern is available on Summer Knitty. Use whatever color you like most or have on hand.
We will have 3 months to finish it and then we will start a sock KAL.
More to come later.

I'll be ready as soon as I ply my singles. Hopefully it will only take me 3 months to make this shawl. _________________ needleq

I'm going to try the shawl - admittedly with some trepidation. My yarn is a a little heavier than lace weight (baby alpaca) so I'll have to fiddle with sizing, perhaps. The yarn was a gift from back when dinasaurs were eggs and I might as well use it before moths do. It's very soft and lovely - a deep robin's egg blue in color.

Yarn is all plied and washed and dried. Do any of you who are doing this KAL have any idea how hard it is to not start right now? Was thinking of starting early to get an idea of what problems we might run into. Might sneak in a few rounds just to see how the yarn works out. Nah, that would be like cheating, beside I have just started a sorta test knit of socks for someone over in Sock Madness Forever on ravelry. _________________ needleq

Ha! In contrast, I'm madly trying to finish the circular vest that had been lying unattended for the winter because my husband was so very sick. He's getting healthier and stronger every day but I've only just picked up the vest so I can hopefully be done by May 1. I usually read 4 or 5 books at a time, but only have one knitting thing going at a time! The vest is gorgeous, if I say so myself - it's a muticolored ribbon yarn in stained glass hues and the pattern is Kia Kia by Berrocco from the free pattern section of the company's web site.

Hi Otherwiseka - glad your hubbie is on the road to recovery! I haven't checked this thread in a long time. It's interesting, I am the opposite, I can only have one book on the go but have a project in just about every room of the house!
Well today is the day - Hooray, hooray today is the day we start our KAL!! _________________ Appaloosa

Thanks, Appie, for the kind words. (Do you have an appie or two?) Funny how we're opposites with books and knitting!
Well, I started today and finished the first chart A since it's so small. Enough for this evening - need to get some papers ready for work tomorrow.
Anyone else have a minute to get started this weekend?

Hmmmm, I have read the pattern, tried some stitches and had to put everything away because someone dropped in for a visit. Now I am supposed to be getting ready for work tomorrow!!! Maybe tomorrow night!
P.S. - yes I do have one appy that is very, very spoiled and is a pleasure to ride. She is my Cadillac! _________________ Appaloosa

I started and made it to row 22 of the A chart before getting sidetracked.
FYI-----there is a sticky on the main forum for this if y'all want to use it. We all seem to use the main forum more than these side ones. I will still check in here when anyone posts something so you won't be forgotten over here.

Got started on my Omelet and got to rows 23 and 24 and it looks like it is not lining up right with the double decease, like it seems to on the chart. So did I do something wrong or will it block out. _________________ needleq
