Finishing a Pinwheel purse, had a hard time trying to get it folded, it is drying as I type. Need to finish a lace edged hat, two shawls, a pair of socks and a pair of fingerless mitts for my youngest son. Also need to mail off the 4 pair that I made for a friend. So many pretties I want to knit, two pair of socks, one(or is it both) are fair isle or intarisa, one is flowers and I am not sure how to describe the other, but by reading the instructions am not sure I am capable of doing either of them, only time will tell. Also spinning up some not so nice roving, trying for a bulky two ply, just want to use up the roving and will make a cat bed out of it and felt it.
Hope all have a good week. _________________ needleq

Hey all.....the omghowdidChristmassneakupsofast rush is on! I'm weaving like crazy and have scarves in all different stages. Today I finally started wrapping things even though I still have probably 2 more weeks' worth of weaving to do.
Kind of dreading the sound of the alarm clock in the morning. I've really enjoyed this week off and staying up as late as I want and sleeping in as late as I want in the morning!
Yesterday I went to a Christmas concert in downtown Seattle - it was a great way to really kick off the Christmas season....and I have my tree up. I didn't get around to outside lights yet - not sure if I'll put any up this year or not (currently not feeling too motivated on that front). It is nice to drive home at the end of the work day - in the dark - and see twinkly lights though. Hmmmmm.

I finished the first hatnd part of a selvubotten (sp) mitten. It looks pretty good. Only thing.... I have lost the rest of the pattern. I only have the chart for the palm and back. Guess I will have to go bqackj to the library to check out the book again and reprint the pattern. ***sigh***
Dale brought my tree up out of the basement last night. On the way up the stairs he managed to break the top. (I never take my tree apart, I just set it down int he basement) So we may be going to Chillicothe this evening to get me a new tree. I'll look at Wal-Mart (the only place in town to look) but I doubt I will find one there.
Mom is doing so much better now. She is actually staying awake and talking to me while I am here. She is in therapy right now so I am taking the time to post. She is actaully doing her therapy and trying. God gave us the attitude adjustment that I prayed for.
This afternoon when I leave here I am going up to the Lodge to put up a tree and decorate the dining hall. Today decorating the hall may just be taking the "Thanksgiving decorations off of the tables and putting on Christmas tablecloths. I don't think I have any table decorations to put on them with me. I gathered some things in a hurry and I am pretty sure I forgot table things. Oh, well.

Judy, that is wonderful news! I'm praying that things continue to improve... And that you find your pattern!
For the first time in ages, I got to SLEEP! For more than five hours! We're into the "season" now at work, so we're facing the prospect of eighteen straight days, ten hours per shift. Himself played with Junior all day Sunday, letting me sleep until almost 3:30 in the afternoon. Ten lovely hours of sleeeeeeeep.
The christening gown is done and has been delivered to a very stunned grandpa-to-be. He wants to make a big deal out of presenting it to his daughter, with the whole family (plus me) in attendance. When I handed him the box, I said, "Now, we've known each other a long time, and you know how much I love to knit. But if somebody doesn't cry when they see this, I'm gonna be p@#$%d!"
*snicker*
We've been busy for a few weeks, even without the work schedule. We're working on recording a CD (nothing fancy; it's a present for my aunt and possibly something to be used as a demo), and my first baking column has been published. There's the Living Walk Through Bethlehem coming up, and we have to figure out where to donate our old refrigerator since our friends are giving us THEIR old (but newer) one, and I've got a baby blanket to make, and Junior's pulling on my arm and asking to sing, so I'll type at you later! |

Oh Audrey - the christening gown story made me laugh out loud this morning!
It feels like winter now! I'm so glad I keep handknitted stuff in my office at work (a big, thick, wool poncho and cashmere fingerless gloves) - I have a lot of glass windows and gets CHILLY. I'll go through my handknit socks today to find something that works with my outfit (or sort of works) - I just spent all day at work being cold yesterday and I'm not doing it again today! _________________ REVISED 2011 Knitting Resolution: 6 "big projects" - shawls and/or sweaters ('cause I'm just too distracted by other patterns to do only VLT patterns this year!) |

Christmas trees? already? Oh dear, makes me feel like Scrooge. Our decorations go up ( if there are any ) on the Saturday before Christmas.
I was doing a visit for a quote today and the customer had a huge (8'x4') window which had been painted slightly open and the draught through it was terrific. Perhaps I'll put "hand knitted socks" on the quote. _________________ To Err is Human
