A bit of a cross-post (see "Food for Thought" string for more info).

We're building a new blog home for the core group that has been here for years and years. I already have private email addresses for Lou, Judy, Audrey, and Pete (and probably lost as many over the years). PLEASE PM me here in the forum with your private email address if you would like to migrate to the new location with us.

We will have a blog format (Audrey doesn't just bake and knit and spin and write and raise handsome babies! she's a wordpress guru as well) that will have group discussions (Knitter Twitter will be there!) and each person will have individual pages to post photos and all kinds of thing happening in your life - so we can talk about our fiber activites but everything else as well (which, really, we have pretty much been doing for a while, eh?).

P.S. OK, I think I have Dani's email too - will send out a test email to see if what I have is still valid - just send a quick reply.

Tracy

Better than me! (I'm nearly bald today because I've been trying to tame Sharepoint 2010 this week - it's definitely smarter than me)

I'm here and coming in late. Will be interested in seeing how the blog works, rather than a forum arrangement. It's a shame these forums are such miserable spam magnets.

I'm sorry I've been away - so busy at work with editing and Little Pickle Press projects. I spend half my life on Facebook and Twitter... and now Google + has been added to my work list. It's good busy though. Not much knitting, at least not socks.

The nice thing about a blog arrangement is the fact that the "comment" function will still allow us to weigh in on a topic. Being able to arrange a personal page is a nice option, too. I think my page should play The Anvil Chorus or something equally cool when it loads. Wink

Hmmm maybe mine would play the William Tell Ouverture as some days it does feel like I'm going a million miles an hour. No wait. What was the name of that bee one? Very Happy

By all means, please join us, albannach!

Okay, gang. We need to figure out a new name for our new location. "Get A Clew" or something. "High Fiber Cafe".

Or we could go with something funny and clever... Wink

Dani has some issues with Wordpress being a pain, possibly brought on by her 20+ Blogger accounts. This might be handled by someone OTHER than Dani starting the blog and bringing her in. In the meantime, before decisions are carved in cyberspace, does anyone have a special and beloved blogging platform that they recommend?

As I don't blog I'm not really qualified, apart from the late lamented Penny Dreadful, which did have a visitor the other day.

I've had very cursory experience of Wordpress and another one called 1&1, but as I say, it's vanishingly small

EDIT

Errr... Twisted Yarns?
