I would like to try socks doing the 2 at a time. Can anyone tell me if where the socks are divided, is there a "ladder". I have always worked with 5 needles and love working that way, but I recently got the book and want to try the 2 at a time, but not if it leaves a ladder. Thanks, Carrie

Hi Carrie,

! Cool I work with 3 and, at times 4 needles depending on the pattern. I also use circulars to knit socks and find that, if you pull just a bit at the place where the needles join as you begin the next needle...ladders are no problem.

I have never had ladders using 2 circulars to knit socks. Go for it lady...you will have a great deal of fun

You mean doing both socks simultaneously don't you?

I've never tried it as I get confused enough with just one sock at a time.

I wish you well.

I use magic loop almost exclusively and never have a problem with ladders. As someone else said a gently tug before start the next side of the sock takes care of that. When I first started knitting magic loop I had a problem telling which side was the heel and instep, so would put a marker to denote the instep side, til I finally didn't need the marker anymore. Good luck and keep us up to date on how it is going for you.

Hi there,
I haven't had the courage to tackle the magic loop yet but have knitted with 5 needles to make socks. I've never had ladders but then I'm a tight knitter. I think if you snug up the first stitch on your needle it will help.
