Ending one month beginning another. It is also the beginning of Tour de Fleece for me. Tour de Fleece spinners challenging themselves as they watch Tour de France, to spin some everyday, spin fiber they haven't spun before, spin for a certain weight of yarn, spin a beaded yarn.....I think yoo get the picture by now. I just plan to try to spin at least 15 - 20 minutes a day, either on my wheel or one of my many drop spindles and hopefully my new trindle spindle will get here before the end of the Tour de Fleece. There will be a bit of knitting on the Rossling socks and a pair of sports socks for the youngest son and then there is the usual dreaded food shopping to do. Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

Sounds like fun!

Looks like it will be a wonderful warm long weekend here (for those who get Monday off... I don't Crying or Very sad )

Been so busy lately with uncooperative plumbing at our cottage, putting ceiling back after repaired plumbing at home, work and trying a new business venture with sister.

This weekend I plan to 'relax' with building the second layer of my new rock garden (you know those things are heavy! Wink ) and a Canada Day pool party. Hmm must pick up some coolers.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Well, it's good to be back. I was over my head with work in the last week of school. We ended up at a colleague's cottage for the afternoon and evening yesterday and it was the perfect end to a very crazy week.
I haven't had any time to do much of anything this last little while. I've persevered with the magic loop and quite like it now. I need to finish the socks I have OTN right now so I can start a shawl. I'm ready for another one now that I've gotten over the omelet!
This weekend I'm doing some R and R to re-energize as I have another week to go because I'm in admin now. We have an extra week to Put in at either end of the summer. That's okay because it is pretty quiet in the school without the kids or teachers.
Sooooooo, Vi, what's this about a business venture?.?.?.?

Not much knitting done this past weekend. We lost power Friday evening around 6... here it is Thursday and we still don't have power. I guess it will come back when it comes back.
We have a generator so we are keeping the fridge and freezer cold and we are able to run a fan. Also spending a lot of time in the pool to keep cool.
AEP website is saying the 10th. We have a lot of hot days between now and then. Supposed to be 108 this weekend.
I knit while at the nursing home with Mommy. Although they also lost power Friday evening and didn't get it back until Tuesday afternoon.

Judy

Wow, Judy with this heat I hope you are coping well! Good thing for the pool.

Lou, the cottage getaway sounds fun. I'll let you know more about work when I get more experience but I'm kind of excited and its seems to be a good fit for me.

Hope everyone is doing well... we need some rain here!

You can have some of ours if you like.
I heard a meterologist saying something to do with the Jet stream had caused the hot weather in the US & Canada and the wet wet wet weather here.

I've been struggling a bit this week as last Thursday I got a nasty splinter in my hand and it became infected and swelled up. Can't hold tools properly at present, but that's no excuse for not working. I'm on my second course of anti-biotics but I think there's still foreign matter inside as whilst it's no longer very swollen it's still "producing"... better stop before someone says TMI.

Managed to find a break in the rain to pick the second pick of Tayberries - made them into jam this morning YUM.

Send it over Pete. The best chance of rain in the next 10 days seems to be a 30% chance of a short thunderstorm tomorrow or next Friday. Rolling Eyes
I just watered my garden, squished a few buggies Confused and look lovingly at an almost ready zucchini. I know when we next have a good rain the squash will inflate and I'll have more than I can use but that's okay. Lots of family to share with.

So sorry about your hand! Be more careful Mister!

Oh, Pete! Do you have tea tree oil to put on the splinter site? Sad

Hot here. The board read 107 degrees on the way through town today. All of the lawns are crispy brown and the trees are drooping. In light of this, I am knitting a wool blanket. Rolling Eyes

Himself is feeling pretty good this week; he even ventured out to the library before the mercury topped the century mark. Junior taught himself to count to ten in German. Shocked I'm working up a recipe for a hot appetizer. Cream and blue cheese with ham and pineapple wrapped in crescent roll dough.

Now for a big glass of water...

Hugs to all!
