Hi there everyone! Its good to be back! I've been lurking and keeping up to date but things had ramped up so that I didn't have time to post. Things are quieting down here and I think spring has finally sprung.
Happy belated birthday, Barb!!!! Just happened to read up on last weekend's thread and saw that your special day was last week!
I received my Woolee Winder this week and just have been too busy to even put it on my wheel! I am hoping to do this today. So spinning is on the agenda. I can't wait to get into some cormo silk I have waiting. We spent the weekend last week with my brother, sister in law and little niece in the big city. We have finally found someone who can babysit the farm! We had a great time but boy, can a 10 month old ever be busy! We were pooped when we got home.
Well, what is everyone up too on this first weekend of May?

Happy belated from me too Barb! Embarassed

Looks like a good weekend Lou...finally.

Just off to do some errands...picking up plants and stone gravel from my plantcycle group friends. I love getting stuff this way...right in my price range. Laughing
I will finish my socks this weekend. I have been ignoring them but this is it!

Been a really big knitting week here, that ended today with me getting into Round 5 of Sock Madness 6. Pattern name is Mosaica, a mosaic sock, toe up, with a striped sole, gusset increases on the sole, with a wrap and turn heel turn that just about took me out of the Madness. Not even going to attempt to explain that one. Let's just say it about kick my sitting down place, til someone took pity on all of those who were have a hard time with it and wrote it all out for us. Can't wait to see what the next pattern will be, will it have bead, color work of some kind, more cables????????.......
Hope all have a safe and fun weekend.

I made a batch of Farmer cheese, then used the whey to make ricotta. Now I'm planning a quick outing to the store before the expected storms hit. We're under a severe thunderstorm watch until eleven tonight; tornadoes are dropping just up the Interstate from us. Shocked

Our neighbors across the street are expecting a new grandbaby; with any luck I'll have a blankie done tonight or tomorrow. After that, the gray shawl will be my main project until I can get to the LYS for sock and cap yarn. Chemo treatments will take about five to six hours each, so I'll (theoretically) be getting a lot of knitting done.

Hey congrats NQ!

Audrey, is there anything you can't make! Good luck with the storms...we had very little rain and thunder here on Friday and still a two hour outage occurred. Son was blacked out in the movie theatre.

I have finished my first socks for ME! And they fit. Very Happy That stretch yarn is quite nice.

Congrats to you too Vi! Now you're addicted!! We didn't get the thunderbangers on Friday but it spas a heavy day!
Audrey, take care with the storms. Boy there have been a lot this year already.
Keep on knitting!

I find that impossible to believe Aud.

And well done Vi, hang in there nearly done. Post piccies when they're done pleeeze.

Oh, knitting wise I found that I've got holes in my most recent socks. It seems that the wool I used for the toe end of the foot is moth-bitten and as soon as it got washed it started to fall apart.

Anyway I've got some more wool now and one is re done. I'll send it to Aud for Kitchener practice ( snigger ).

You all are taking the boringness of not having the next pattern yet away. Have been twitchy ever since I finished the last pair and feel lost without a sock to work on. Only 3 sock patterns left in the Madness.
