Still in the grip of drought here. Still raining hard here. Plus ça change.

Son still in bed - conserving his energy for rugby, daughter disappeared to Uni 10 days ago and hasn't been in contact since.

Had another go at the skew sock redesign, but not progressing very well.

Leading the singing at church tomorrow night, this time with a pianist and a singer I've not worked with before, the latter not familiar with the material or the style of the material. Should be fun.

Wow, what a rough week! Especially the part about no contact. Sad How about a bit of good news to cheer you up?

Himself sat up for most of the morning, then asked for his guitar! It's the first time he's picked it up in a month. He looked so pleased with himself that I called two friends. They dropped everything to come over and play with him for almost half an hour. He's taking a nap now.

I'm in the middle of a baby blanket for the neighbors across the street. They're expecting a new granddaughter in a few months. Smile Hats and bed socks for Himself are next on the list, so I'll be treating myself to some extrasoft yarn soon. Any suggestions?

That's good news to hear Aud, I have been thinking about you all.

He doesn't fancy popping over here to help me out tomorrow evening does he?

So happy to hear that Himself is feeling better. Not much going on here, waiting on one team to fill their last slot for this round of Sock Madness 6. Going to take a bit easy for the next day or two, to rest up for whatever type pattern will come up. Some think it will be beads and others colorwork of some kind. Its anyone guess as to what it will be. Have a great weekend and stay safe.

That's great news Aud!

Its cold here but we did have some sun, not that I managed to get outside. Tax time and with 6 to put finishing touches to its not been fun. Evil or Very Mad

Pete, I'm sure you did wonderfully and NQ I'm bet you're up for whatever they throw at you next. Me...I'm still trying to find room for daughter's stuff! There are still boxes all over the place and she is conveniently in another time zone. Wink

Viola, my girl's only a couple of hours away by train or a few seconds away by telephone - the distance seems to be the same.

Having said that.. I did get a response when I sent an email yesterday with a link in.

Interesting...

Yes we have to sometimes reach out in their own language to keep in touch. Emails, Youtube, Facebook and Skype. No Twitter for me...that would drive me nuts though the kids like it. I'd say cell phone texts but I am soooo slow so we avoid that! She does sends me little updates that way and I email later. She has 'friended' me on FB so when I wonder I check in there to see what she is up to. Of course my son has not done so Laughing but I think that is just as well. Wink

Drinking more beer the end of April and into this month. Going backwards on the Bridgewater shawl. Have to rip out two rows (20 and 19) to fix some BAD errors that cannot be overlooked.

Work is going down hill as there are few orders and, as a result, hour are evaporating FAST. On the flip side of that, I get home earlier and weave on my Kromski 32 inch Harp loom, spin, knit or just inspect my stash on look for new and exciting pattern adventures to take up.

On Friday I will be 55. What... Shocked Surprised a crazy year this has been already!
